Interlaken Price Guide

How Much Does Paragliding in Interlaken Cost?

Tandem paragliding over Interlaken starts from $207, and almost every flight worth considering sits within $26 of that. Which means the price barely tells you anything — so here is what actually separates them.

Tandem paraglider flying above an alpine valley near Interlaken with lakes and snow-capped peaks below
Flights above Interlaken quote 10–20 minutes in the air. The one that quotes 20–25 launches from a different valley.

Paragliding here is not one product with a price. It is a scatter of flights sold by competing operators from several different launch sites, and the cheapest and the dearest of the serious ones are separated by about the cost of a decent dinner in town. So the useful question is not how much it costs. It is what changes as you go up the ladder, and where paying more stops changing anything at all.

The short version

  • If you read nothing else: book the Interlaken: Tandem Paragliding Flight with Pilot, from $221. The drive up to the Beatenberg launch is included, you land in the middle of town, and at ★ 4.9 from 2,630 reviews it carries more feedback than anything else flying over Interlaken.
  • Most flights cost about the same, then prices jump. Five sit between $207 and $233. The next paraglide up is from $257, and nothing in its listing explains the gap.
  • The longest flight is not the dearest. The Mürren: Paragliding Panorama Tandem Flight, from $233, publishes 20–25 minutes of flying from a launch at Birg, 2,600 m — against the 10–20 minutes the Interlaken flights quote.
  • The cheapest flight stops being cheapest once you get there. Mürren: Paragliding over Lauterbrunnen Cliffs and Waterfalls is from $207, but the ride up to Mürren and the ride back from Stechelberg are both on you. Add those and the photos and it lands within a dollar of the town flight above it.
  • Photos are never in the price. Not on one listing here. Budget CHF 40 (about $49) for a paragliding flight; the skydive’s package costs several times that.
  • Where you’re staying decides what you can book. From Interlaken you can fly for $207. From Zurich with no car the cheapest flight is from $391, and from Geneva, from $459.
  • Everything is priced per head. Nothing here splits between passengers — a family of four booking the flight we’d pick pays $884 in total.

Where do these flights depart from?

Almost all of them from the Bernese Oberland, and most from Interlaken itself — you meet the van in town, it drives you up to the Beatenberg launch, and you land back in Höhematte park a few minutes’ walk from the main street. The rest go from Mürren, up in the Lauterbrunnen valley, with one launching off the Niesen above Spiez on Lake Thun. All of them assume you are in the region that morning.

Where your day startsWhat you can actually bookCheapest flight
Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen or MürrenEvery flight on this pagefrom $207
Zurich, without a carCoach day-trips — paragliding or skydivingfrom $391
Geneva, without a carA coach day-trip — paraglidingfrom $459

If you are based in Zurich or Geneva, a coach package brings the flight to you instead. The Zurich: Day trip to Interlaken incl. tandem paragliding is $391 for a ten-hour day; the From Geneva: Paragliding and Interlaken Trip is $459 for thirteen hours; and the From Zurich: Interlaken Skydiving & Scenic Flight Adventure is $730 for eleven, with a scenic flight added before the jump. Each one includes the same flight you would book locally, plus the bus, the driver-guide and some free time in town.

So the extra buys the journey, not the flying: the same wing above the same valley for the same 10–20 minutes you would get for $221 in Interlaken, with $170 of the difference going on the coach and a 90-minute activity becoming a whole day. If your itinerary has any give in it, take the train — under two hours from Zurich, and our guide to getting to Interlaken from Zurich and Geneva covers it.

The flights we’d book

Book the Skywings flight if you want the day handled for you; pay $12 more for the Mürren panorama if time in the air is the point; take the Mürren cliffs flight if a travel pass covers your lifts. Those conclusions follow from the clustering above, and everything after the picks is the evidence for them.

What most people should book

Interlaken: Tandem Paragliding Flight with Pilot

from $221 ★ 4.9 2,630 reviews · Beatenberg launch · lands in Interlaken

This is the flight to take if you want to think about it as little as possible. Skywings pick you up in town, drive you up to Beatenberg, and land you back in Höhematte park a few minutes’ walk from your hotel — the transport is in the price, which is not true of either Mürren flight. It costs $14 more than the cheapest option on this page and, once you add the cable car that option leaves out, it is not more expensive at all. And it is the most-reviewed flight in the region by a distance, which is the only real evidence available before you leave the ground.

  • Book this if you are staying in Interlaken, you want the logistics handled, and you would rather fly with an operator that has thousands of flights behind it.
  • Don’t book it if you are over 90 kg — and check the slot, because the operator’s own timetable caps the early and late departures at 80 kg, with a maximum age of 60 — or if what you actually want is the longest possible flight.

Where we’d spend the extra

Mürren: Paragliding Panorama Tandem Flight Full Experience

from $233 ★ 4.9 206 reviews · Birg launch, 2,600 m · lands at Stechelberg

This is the only listing in the region that puts a number above 20 minutes on its flying time: 20–25 minutes, from a launch at Birg at 2,600 m in summer, down the Lauterbrunnen valley past Gimmelwald and the Trümmelbach waterfalls. Roughly double the airtime of the flights above Interlaken, for $12 more. The catch is honest and printed on the listing: the shuttle to the meeting point and the cable car up to the launch are both excluded, so budget for the lifts — or arrive holding a Berner Oberland Pass, which covers the whole Schilthornbahn line.

  • Book this if time in the air is the thing you actually want, or you are already staying in Lauterbrunnen, Mürren or Wengen.
  • Don’t book it if you have half a day and no travel pass — between the shuttle, the gondola and landing in a different village from where you started, block out a morning for it.

The cheapest one worth taking

Mürren: Paragliding over Lauterbrunnen Cliffs and Waterfalls

from $207 ★ 4.9 384 reviews · Mürren launch · up to 20 minutes in the air

The lowest price in the region, and not a stripped-down flight: the listing promises up to 20 minutes over the Lauterbrunnen cliffs and waterfalls, includes insurance, and puts the walk up from Mürren to the take-off field at about 15 minutes. It looks like the cheapest flight here, and it is — until you add getting there. The listing excludes both the journey to Mürren and any transport after you land at Stechelberg. If you are holding a Swiss Travel Pass the ride up costs nothing and this stays the cheapest flight in the valley; if you are not, it is a wash against the Interlaken flight above.

  • Book this if you have a Swiss Travel Pass or a Berner Oberland Pass, or you are already up in Mürren for the day.
  • Don’t book it if you want to be dropped off and picked up — you are making your own way to the meeting point and your own way home from a village at the bottom of the valley.

What does each flight cost?

The cheapest flight here is $207 and the dearest paraglide is $257; everything above that is a different aircraft, a different mountain or a coach. Sorted cheapest first. “Time in the air” comes from the operator’s own listing; where a listing doesn’t publish it, the cell says so. Anything that only shows you the region from inside a helicopter cabin is not counted as a flight here.

Other experiences you might enjoy

Most people who fly here build a day or two around it. The Lauterbrunnen valley and the Trümmelbach waterfalls sit directly under two of the flights above; Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, the Harder Kulm viewpoint over Interlaken, and boat trips on Lake Thun and Lake Brienz all fill the weather day you should be keeping in reserve anyway.

What each step up the ladder actually buys

Two thresholds matter. Up to $233, each step buys more flying — a ride to the launch, a higher take-off, ten more minutes in the air, a deeper stack of reviews. Above $233 the money stops buying airtime, and above $257 it stops buying paragliding at all: you are into a different aircraft, a different mountain or a coach. One rung at a time:

  • from $207 → from $221 (+$14). The ride. Skywings’ Interlaken flight includes the drive up to Beatenberg and drops you back in the centre of town; the Mürren flight below it excludes both the journey there and the journey home. It also brings the largest review base in the region.
  • from $221 → from $233 (+$12). Two different things for the same money. Paragliding Interlaken’s flight is the same Beatenberg hillside from a third operator, in an air-conditioned bus, with the best rating on this page. The Mürren panorama flight is a genuinely different flight: 20–25 minutes instead of 10–20, from 2,600 m instead of the hillside above town.
  • from $233 → from $257 (+$24). Nothing the listing identifies. The High Flight uses the same Beatenberg launch side as the cheaper flights, does not publish a flying time, and has 77 reviews behind it against 2,630 next door. Its listing does describe the highest take-off in Interlaken — but the highest launch on this page, Birg at 2,600 m, belongs to a flight that costs less.
  • from $257 → from $319 (+$62). This one puts you under a rigid triangular wing instead of a fabric canopy. Team Bumblebee’s hang gliding flight puts you under a rigid triangular wing, lying prone rather than sitting in a harness, and it is the one listing here that will collect you from your hotel. It has no reviews yet.
  • from $319 → from $369 (+$50). A different mountain. The Niesen flight launches above Lake Thun and starts at the Niesenbahn valley station in Spiez, half an hour down the line from Interlaken. The funicular up is not in the price, and there are no reviews.
  • from $369 → from $391 (+$22). Not flying — the bus. The Zurich day trip is the same paraglide with a coach, a driver-guide and ten hours wrapped around it.
  • from $391 → from $459 (+$68). The same operator runs a Geneva version, three hours further from the mountain. The Geneva version is run by the same operator and delivers the same 10–20 minutes in the air, inside a 13-hour day.
  • from $459 → from $523 (+$64). A change of activity. The Interlaken skydive gives you a 45-second freefall from 4,000 m and a 5–7 minute canopy ride — less time in the air than any paraglide here, and an entirely different sensation. Our skydiving versus paragliding comparison takes that decision apart properly.
  • from $523 → from $730 (+$207). The same jump, plus a Zurich coach and a 15–20 minute scenic flight over the Alps before you leave the aircraft. The From Zurich skydiving trip is rated 4.8 from just 14 reviews, so there is not much behind it yet.
  • from $730 → from $1,046 (+$316). A whole day with a guide to yourself. The Mürren hike and paragliding experience is a private four-hour walk through the high valley with local snacks, an hour in Mürren, and the flight at the end. It has no reviews yet, and it is sold as a day out rather than as a flight.

The one we’d skip

The clearest example is the Interlaken: Paragliding Tandem High Flight at $257. It is currently discounted from $271. It launches from the same Beatenberg side as the flights $24 cheaper, doesn’t publish a flying time, and is rated 4.7 from 77 reviews against 4.9 from 2,630 for the flight in the same town at $221. We’d skip it unless it is the only slot left on the day you can fly — which, in July and August, it sometimes will be.

Same price, different flight

A tie is a decision you shouldn’t have to make blind:

  • At $221Skywings against AlpinAir. Same hillside, same landing meadow, same money. Take Skywings on the weight of evidence. Take AlpinAir if you’d rather have the operator that publishes its numbers — airtime, launch height and an SHV-certified pilot are all named in its listing — but note its transfers are free only “if you are close to the takeoff area”.
  • At $233Paragliding Interlaken against the Mürren panorama flight. These aren’t competing; they are in different valleys. Take the first for a coach up, a landing in town and the best rating here (★ 5.0 from 657). Take the second for the longest flight, if you don’t mind the lifts.

What the headline price leaves out

Two costs sit outside every figure above, and one of them reverses the order of the cheap end.

Photos. Not one flight listed for Interlaken or the Lauterbrunnen valley includes pictures or video of your flight. You cannot bring your own camera or a selfie stick either — the pilot films you on a mounted GoPro and shows you the result on a tablet at the landing field. The operators that name a price all name the same one: CHF 40, about $49. If photos matter to you at all, treat the CHF 40 as part of the price rather than as an extra.

Getting to the launch. The Interlaken flights drive you up and you walk back to your hotel. The two Mürren flights do not: Airtime’s flight excludes the journey to Mürren and transport after you land at Stechelberg, and the panorama flight excludes both the shuttle to the meeting point and the gondola up to the take-off. The Schilthornbahn’s published tariff puts Stechelberg–Mürren at CHF 11.80 one way, about $15 — and at CHF 0.00 if you hold a Swiss Travel Pass, a GA travelcard or a Berner Oberland Pass.

Add the photos and one cable-car leg and the cheap end of the ladder rearranges itself:

FlightFrom pricePhotosCable carWhat you actually pay
Mürren cliffs and waterfalls$207$49$15$271
Interlaken with Skywings$221$49$270
Interlaken with AlpinAir$221$49$270
Interlaken with Paragliding Interlaken$233$49$282

So the $14 saving at the top of the table is not real for most people: $271 against $270 puts the cheapest flight in the region a dollar above the one we’d book, and that is before you find your way back down the valley from Stechelberg. Hold a Swiss Travel Pass, though, and the cable car costs nothing — the flight plus the photos and no more — and it becomes the cheapest way to fly here by a clear margin. The panorama flight sits at $282 plus the lifts up to Birg, which the Schilthornbahn does not price separately — another reason to arrive with a Berner Oberland Pass, which covers that whole line.

One more line item, and it is not small. The skydive’s photo package is not priced on its listing, but a verified booking in July 2026 reported paying CHF 207 — about $255 for video and photos. That is roughly what an entire paragliding flight costs. If pictures matter to you, it belongs in the comparison.

What doesn’t change however much you pay

Operators advertise these hardest, which is exactly why they can’t help you choose:

  • The mountain panorama. Paying more does not unlock a different set of peaks. The launch point and the flight path change, but the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau wall and the two lakes dominate the view from every flight here.
  • A qualified pilot does the flying. Every flight here is tandem and none of them needs experience. You will be asked to run a few steps at launch, and that is the whole physical requirement.
  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. On every single listing, at every price.
  • “Small group” means nothing here. Several listings carry the badge, but you fly one-to-one with your pilot regardless. It is not a feature you are paying for.
  • Photos cost extra. On all of them. See above.
  • The weather decides, not the price. Every operator reschedules or refunds, and several confirm only the evening before or the morning of. Book early in your trip, never on your last day — our guide to when to book and when to fly goes into the seasons and the time of day.

“That’s me” — pick the one that sounds like you

Which flight should you book?

The short answer, by category. The reasoning for each one is above.

Which leaves one honest sentence for the whole ladder: paragliding here is priced remarkably consistently, the only thing worth paying up for is minutes in the air, and every dollar above $233 buys logistics, a different aircraft or a different sensation — never a better view.

Good to Know

Paragliding prices — quick answers

How much does tandem paragliding in Interlaken cost?

Tandem paragliding over the Interlaken and Jungfrau region starts from $207 per person, and the flights most people actually choose between all sit between $207 and $233. Above that, the next paraglide is from $257. Prices checked August 2026; operators use dynamic pricing, so the live figure shows at booking.

Which flight gives the most time in the air?

The Mürren: Paragliding Panorama Tandem Flight, from $233, is the one listing here that publishes a flying time over 20 minutes: 20–25 minutes from a launch at Birg, 2,600 m. The flights that take off above Interlaken quote 10–20 minutes. You pay for the cable cars up to the Birg launch yourself.

Are photos included in the price?

No. Not one flight listed for Interlaken or the Lauterbrunnen valley includes photos or video in the price. The operators that name a price all name the same one — CHF 40, about $49 — bought from the pilot at the landing field. If photos matter to you, budget for it from the start.

Is paragliding cheaper than skydiving in Interlaken?

Yes, by well over half. The Interlaken: Airplane Skydiving over the Swiss Alps jump is from $523 against from $221 for the tandem paraglide most people book. They are different experiences rather than two grades of the same one: the skydive gives you a 45-second freefall from 4,000 m and a 5–7 minute canopy ride, the paraglide gives you 10–20 minutes of gliding and a landing in the middle of town. Our skydiving versus paragliding guide has the full comparison.

Can I paraglide in Interlaken if I'm based in Zurich or Geneva?

Yes, but only through a coach day-trip, and it costs considerably more. The Zurich: Day trip to Interlaken incl. tandem paragliding is from $391 for a 10-hour day, and the From Geneva: Paragliding and Interlaken Trip is from $459 for 13 hours — rated 5.0, but from just 2 reviews. Both deliver the same 10–20 minutes of flying you would get for $221 if you were already in Interlaken.

Does the weight limit affect which slots I can book?

It does, and it is easy to miss. On the Interlaken: Tandem Paragliding Flight with Pilot the early-morning and late-afternoon slots cap at 80 kg with a maximum age of 60, while the mid-day slots take up to 90 kg. Children under 30 kg must fly before 11am. Every operator here requires that you can run a few steps at launch.
